This includes working closely with other asset managers to closely monitor and report periodically on the overall debt and equity portfolio. This individual will also work closely with the underwriting team to assist with capital calls when transactions are ready to fund and manage the assets after funding. Working closely with internal and external partners to identify issues early on and work with their manager to propose viable solutions to address identified issues, when necessary. The position will require consistency of approach to solutions and managing the portfolio in a manner that minimizes negative impacts or losses.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead asset management for a diverse national portfolio of multifamily properties, ensuring optimal performance and complianceAsset manage LIHTC debt and equity transactions, applying deep understanding of program requirements and deal structuresMonitor and analyze assets across debt and equity portfolios, driving informed decision-makingPartner with loan servicing teams to collect and analyze property operating dataGenerate annual risk ratings and other portfolio performance summary reportsBuild strong relationships with external partners, developers, and operators, proactively requesting and evaluating property data to support strategic objectivesSupport capital call processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution of funding requirementsPresent to investment committee to communicate deal progress, surface critical issues, and support informed credit decisionsOccasional travel may be requiredRequirements8-10 years of commercial real estate debt experience in multifamilyBachelor's Degree in Real Estate or FinanceExperience with both LIHTC debt and equityKnowledge of affordable and workforce housing industry including LIHTC is helpful but not requiredSolid understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and ExcelExperience in portfolio construction lending is a plus Skills And CompetenciesProactive self‑starter with outstanding communication, analytical, and organizational strengths, adept at managing multiple priorities.Excels in team‑based environments while confidently driving work forward independently in a dynamic setting.Ability to build cohesive relationships that incorporates core values, builds trust and promotes a productive environment among teammates and within the overall Barings Real Estate platformStrong desire to learn and work collaboratively to help grow the Affordable Housing platformBase Salary Range: $155,000- $185,000 and additional incentive compensation.Requisite SkillsAffordable Housing, Asset Management, Multifamily Real Estate, Portfolio Performance Analysis, Real EstateAdditional SkillsBarings is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer; Minority/Female/Age/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
