Executive Administrative Assistant
This is a contractual and at will position. The Administrative Assistant reports directly to and is supervised by the Executive Director of the Pentwater Chamber of Commerce.
32–40 hours per week | Hourly position | Some evenings & weekends required
The Pentwater Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly organized and professional Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director to support daily operations with a strong emphasis on event coordination and execution, chamber growth, and member engagement. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting the local business community, promoting chamber membership, and contributing to the continued growth and success of Pentwater.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the Executive Director and assist with day-to-day office operations
Coordinate logistics for chamber and community events, including setup, vendor communication, registrations, and on-site assistance
Assist with initiatives that support chamber growth, membership recruitment, retention, and engagement
Promote chamber programs, events, and membership benefits through email, website updates, and social media platforms
Communicate professionally with members, businesses, volunteers, and the public while serving as a positive ambassador for the chamber
Maintain records, correspondence, and databases with accuracy and confidentiality
Support marketing efforts, newsletters, and general outreach initiatives
Assist with events from conception to clean up, must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
Qualifications
Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Proficient computer and technical skills (Google Workspace, email systems, databases, and social media platforms)
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Problem solving
Flexibility to work select evenings and weekends for events
Prior administrative or event coordination experience preferred
Interest in community development, business support, or nonprofit work is a plus
Schedule & Compensation
32–40 hours per week
Hourly pay (rate based on experience)
Combination of office work and hands-on event support
