Engineer
Summary
We are seeking an Engineer to support process optimization, troubleshooting, operational improvements, and engineering projects within a biotechnology manufacturing environment.
Under general supervision, the Engineer will apply fundamental engineering principles to support manufacturing, operations, pilot plant activities, and capital projects. The role will focus on evaluating and troubleshooting operational issues, supporting process optimization strategies, implementing system modifications, and analyzing technical data to develop effective solutions.
The ideal candidate will have experience in biotechnology processes, particularly purification operations, as well as knowledge of chromatography and UF/DF (ultrafiltration/diafiltration) techniques.
Responsibilities
Support the characterization and optimization of process strategies within manufacturing, operations, pilot plant, and capital project environments.
Troubleshoot operational and process-related issues and assist in identifying root causes and potential solutions.
Apply basic engineering principles to the design and implementation of system modifications, experiments, and engineering projects.
Support process improvement initiatives and engineering activities related to biotechnology manufacturing.
Analyze operational and engineering data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential process improvements.
Organize, interpret, and present technical results and recommendations to engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams.
Support experiments and technical studies related to process optimization and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement engineering solutions and process improvements.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, presentations, and other project-related deliverables.
Support projects involving purification operations and biotechnology manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Engineering, OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 2 years of engineering experience.
Experience working with biotechnology processes, specifically purification operations.
Knowledge and/or experience with chromatography techniques.
Knowledge and/or experience with UF/DF (Ultrafiltration/Diafiltration) techniques.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to analyze technical information and communicate results effectively.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional and regulated environment.
Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing.
Experience supporting process optimization or troubleshooting activities.
Experience with engineering projects, process modifications, or technical investigations.
Familiarity with GMP-regulated environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
