Location: Newport News, VASchedule: Monday-Friday, 1st ShiftPay Rate: Starts at $18.00 per hour; higher wages may be offered based on specific skills and experiencePosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role focuses on fitting and welding sheet metal components based on detailed specifications, ensuring quality and accuracy in every build.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform MIG welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positionsFit and assemble sheet metal components using clamps and fixturesRead and interpret work orders, drawings, and welding symbolsInspect and measure finished work using calipers, templates, and other toolsWeld various materials including steel, aluminum, and alloysPerform tack welding, grinding, heat bending, and assembly as neededDetermine appropriate welding techniques for each jobMaintain equipment and perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenanceWork efficiently to meet production goals and deadlinesFollow all safety procedures and company standardsQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of MIG welding experienceExperience working with light gauge sheet metal (.060” to 1/4” thickness required)Ability to read and understand blueprints and welding symbolsStrong attention to detail and quality standardsAbility to communicate effectively with team members and supervisorsPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 100 lbsCapable of standing, walking, bending, twisting, and performing repetitive movementsComfortable working in varying temperature conditions within a plant environmentWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
