This position is office-based in Houston, TX (not remote).ResponsibilitiesPartner with BGE leaders to build and foster relationships with leaders and employees implement business and HR initiatives in the regionProvide business-focused HR solutions and servicesResolve employee relations concerns, partner with leaders and provide guidance on performance management, create path of success for employeesCreate and facilitate training and development for region; support and participate in non-HR trainingMaintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records, creating and generating routine and ad hoc reports as well as other administrative functions such as data management, employee status changes, and payroll reportsRegionally lead the Company employee recognition programEffectively communicate and administer HR compliance such as company policies, procedures, programs, changes and related issuesManage employee workers compensation process and unemployment processesManage Leaves of Absence and FMLA, ADA administration, as well implement local and state laws for the regionEngage in activities that support the Company culture and valuesOversee employee onboarding and offboarding with care, compassion, and expertise.Engage in Company benefits and company compensation processes to enable effective communication and education to employees.Other duties as assigned.Requirements8+ years of experience as an HR Generalist, HRBP, or other related HR role.Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field.Strong experience with employee relations, employee leave programs/FMLA, employee benefits, etc.Demonstrated experience as a consultative problem-solver with the ability to build relationshipsSHRM-CP and/or PHR/SPHR is preferredExperience in engineering or consulting is preferred. Civil Engineering a plus.Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook skillsWorking knowledge of UKG HRIS and Vantagepoint systems preferredCritical thinking and the ability to manage competing priorities to meet the needs of various groups/departmentsWillingness and ability to be in the office from Monday through Friday during normal working hours (this is not a remote role)Willingness and ability to travel as needed to other offices in the Houston metro region (Katy and The Woodlands) up to 20%.Strong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels in an organizationSome Of Our Benefits401k Match: 100% up to 4% of your contributions with immediate vesting + 3% Safe Harbor Contribution with immediate vestingMerit-Based Bonus CompensationMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance; BGE contributes to HSA on eligible plans9 paid Holidays, including 3 Floating holidaysPersonal Time Allowances 2 to 4 weeks of Vacation, depending on experience-level.
