Aquatics Elite Performance Assistant Coach

DescriptionFLSA Classification: Nonexempt, part-timeReports to: Elite Performance DirectorSummary/objectiveConducts Elite Performance training or clinics for participants in group settingsEssential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.Able to demonstrate proper elite-level swim techniques.Teach elite-level swimming, for various age groups, with a focus on enhancing students' overall swim performance.Conduct student evaluations to assess swimmer's abilities and determine proper student placement.Facilitate practice in a positive and safe learning environment.Analyze individual swim techniques to identify weaknesses, correct form, improve efficiency, and maximize strengths.Facilitate dry-land exercises for overall strength development.Provide ongoing feedback on swimmers' performance throughout the season.Utilize swim aids/equipment to maximize student performance and overall growth.Promote the Elite Performance Program through active recruitment of both members and non-members.Keep accurate records through acac's scheduling software, including, but not limited to, the cancellation and rescheduling of previously scheduled programming.Be timely and professional in all communication.Maintain familiarity with acac programs to manage questions and communicate knowledgeably to members and guests.Enforce acac aquatic facility policies before, during, and after practices while on deck.Arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the program to organize needed equipment and remain 5 minutes after the program to answer any questions.RequirementsPhysical RequirementsAble to actively participate in the swim program using repetitive arm and leg motions.Able to demonstrate high-level swimming skills in the water.Able to work in an often warm and humid environment with heightened noise.Able to work in both warm water and cool water pools.Available to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.Available to attend meetings or clinic-related workshops.Required competencies, education, and experienceHigh School diploma preferredExperience in a competitive swimming atmosphere as a swimmer/coach.At least 3 years of swim lesson instruction experience.Prior competitive swim experience and/or coaching experience may be substituted in lieu of swim instruction experience.USA coaching certification is required.Superior customer service skills; ability to communicate with both children and adultsSkilled in finding the best teaching methods to accommodate different populationsCompany ExpectationsRead, sign, and abide by the policies included in the Team Member Handbook.Park in team member-designated areas.Club cleanliness is an all-team responsibility; assist whenever necessary in any area of the club to keep the club neat and clean.Assist with Service Days.Assist with acac programs, special events, or activities outside your departmentPromptly return phone calls and messages.Exhibit a positive attitude at all times.Deliver five-star service to members and guests with friendliness, direct eye contact, and a pleasant demeanor at all times.Affirmative Action/EEO Statementacac is an equal opportunity employer that recruits and hires qualified candidates without regard to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, disability, or veteran status.Other dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the team member for this job.
