Field Service Biomedical Engineer
Overview 1099 Biomedical Field Service Technician – Aesthetic Laser Devices – Remote Field-Based position with Powered by MRP. Not open to recruitment agencies. MUST be experienced with Aesthetic Laser Devices. We do not provide technician training, so applicants must already be independently proficient servicing aesthetic laser equipment.
We are building a nationwide database of laser field technicians for 1099 assignments to install, repair, and maintain aesthetic laser devices from various manufacturers.
About MRP MRP is the center of Aesthetics eCommerce, located at the gateway to Park City, UT. We specialize in energy-based aesthetic devices and are rapidly expanding our online presence and national service network. As part of our strategic growth, we are seeking experienced 1099 Biomedical Field Service Technicians to support our Service Team across multiple regions.
Role Overview As a Biomedical Field Service Technician , you will operate as an independent contractor responsible for servicing and repairing aesthetic laser equipment at customer locations. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring device uptime, customer satisfaction, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair laser-based medical systems, including mechanical, electrical, optical, and software components
Perform installations, modifications, and preventive maintenance
Disassemble and diagnose malfunctioning systems and handpieces
Replace or repair defective parts and calibrate equipment per manufacturer guidelines
Document service activities, including service reports, installation records, and customer communications
Generate and submit accurate invoices for completed service work in a timely manner
Provide clear, professional technical support to customers
Maintain safety and compliance standards during all service activities
Identify and refer customers to MRP’s sales team for potential device acquisitions, upgrades, or trade-ins
Skills & Qualifications Laser System Operation & Maintenance : Proficiency in operating, calibrating, and maintaining medical laser systems used in dermatology and aesthetic procedures.
Biomedical Instrumentation : Understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices, including installation, calibration, and repair.
Electronics & Optics : Strong foundation in electrical systems, optics, and laser physics to troubleshoot and repair equipment accurately.
Preventive Maintenance : Ability to implement scheduled maintenance to ensure optimal device performance and longevity.
Technical proficiency with Cutera, Sciton, Cynosure, Lumenis, Fotona, BTL, Lucent IPL, Candela, Alma, Rohrer, Delta, Solta, Palomar, Quanta System, Revital, InMode, or Vasculaze systems
Experience & Education Basic knowledge of electro-mechanical and electronic systems (laser and optics)
Minimum 1–2 years of experience servicing medical equipment (laser experience preferred)
Knowledge of electrical safety theory and biomedical instrumentation testing
Compliance : Familiarity with FDA, OSHA, and manufacturer-specific safety standards for laser use and biomedical equipment.
Location : Field-based; travel required to customer sites
Tools & Equipment : Must supply own tools. Loaner specialty equipment must be returned same business day.
Compensation : Per-service bidding system
Incentives : Additional compensation available for qualified device referrals that lead to acquisitions or sales
