The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the game, a passion for mentoring young athletes, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field. Responsibilities Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and game strategies. Provide instruction and feedback to athletes to enhance their skills and understanding of the game. Support the head coach in managing team logistics, including game schedules and transportation arrangements. Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for opponents. Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations. Help monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and encourage a balance between athletics and academics. Assist in organizing and supervising team events, including fundraisers, community service, and team-building activities. Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions. Attend all practices, games, and meetings as required by the head coach. Requirements Previous experience playing or coaching lacrosse at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred. Strong understanding of lacrosse rules, strategies, and techniques. Ability to effectively communicate and connect with middle school-aged students. Strong organizational and leadership skills. Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment. Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for practices and games. Background check clearance as required by school policies.
