Construction LaborerThis role involves performing demolition, general labor, and site cleanup on commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on school buildings during the summer. You will remove building components, handle and dispose of materials safely, and help maintain clean, organized work areas while working in hot conditions and staying active throughout the day.ResponsibilitiesPerform demolition tasks, including removing walls, ceilings, floors, studs, doors, windows, and mechanical systems as directed.Carry, load, and dispose of construction debris and materials into dumpsters throughout the workday.Use hand tools such as shovels and other basic tools safely and effectively to support demolition and cleanup activities.Sweep, shovel, and clean work areas to maintain a safe, organized, and debris-free job site.Work on commercial building projects, including multiple school sites, following instructions from supervisors and site leads.Remain on your feet and stay productive throughout the entire shift, handling repetitive lifting and manual labor tasks.Travel independently to different job sites as required, using reliable transportation.Follow all safety procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toe boots.Assist team members as needed to complete tasks efficiently and meet project timelines.Adapt to working in hot weather and varying site conditions while maintaining safe work practices.Essential SkillsAbility to lift and carry at least 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.Experience performing manual labor in a construction or similar physically demanding environment.Capability to work on your feet all day and remain consistently active and productive.Comfort working in hot conditions and varying weather environments.Basic experience with demolition tasks and working around mechanical systems.Ability to safely use hand tools such as shovels and other basic construction tools.Reliable transportation to travel to multiple job sites as required.Ownership and use of steel toe boots and willingness to wear appropriate safety gear.Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to follow directions on a busy job site.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience on commercial construction projects, especially in school or institutional settings, is beneficial.Demonstrated ability to work well within a team and support others in completing tasks.Willingness to take initiative, stay busy without constant supervision, and show potential for increased responsibility.Interest in growing into more advanced roles such as foreman or job lead over time.Why Work Here?You will join a team that values strong work ethic and offers the chance to extend your employment beyond the busy summer season if you demonstrate reliability and performance.
