Senior Maintenance Mechanic
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing facility team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment and systems to ensure optimal production efficiency. Your expertise will help prevent downtime, improve operational reliability, and support continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and possesses a strong background in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, hydraulics and mechanical repair. The position requires frequent walking, standing, lifting, climbing, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling. The position may require weekend and/or holiday work.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and mechanical components.
Repair all production equipment as needed.
Perform breakdown analysis, diagnose problems, execute corrections.
Perform general housekeeping.
Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology
Partner with outside contractors working on assigned equipment or projects
Change lines for package changeovers
Comply with company manufacturing practices, safety and audit standards
Must be able to work well in a team environment as well as independently as needed
Reliable attendance
Skills
Experience with case packing/packaging machinery, gluers, assembly line, conveyors and paper converting equipment is STRONGLY PREFERRED
Hydraulics/liquid compression (e.g. valves, cylinders)
Pneumatics/air compression (e.g. valves/cylinders)
Basic electrical systems (e.g. starters, fuses, contacts, relays)
Mechanical systems (e.g. gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings)
Experience with kinematics (e.g. line speed/socket size ratios)
PLC (e.g. industrial maintenance, computer control systems)
SERVO (e.g. intelligent/robot motors, encoders, etc)
Troubleshooting (e.g. diagnostics, problem solving)
Schematics (e.g. electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays, fuses)
Product manuals (e.g. reading and applying knowledge to make repairs)
Experience with various manufacturing practices (e.g. procedures, safety, national standards such as lock out/tag out)
General welding
Experience with packaging/high speed production
Hands on knowledge of and experience with tool design and fabrication, tool repair, and troubleshooting)
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Technical certification, associate degree, or trade school training preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
