Position Summary
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance, facility, and MRO operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing and facility performance. This role oversees preventive and predictive maintenance programs, manages personnel and budgets, supports new equipment installations, and drives continuous improvement through data-driven decision making.
Education & Experience Requirements
Associate Degree with 6–10 years of related experience OR
10+ years of job-specific and related experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage confidential information
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; Access database experience a plus
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
Supervise and develop Maintenance, Facility, and MRO associates
Conduct performance reviews, corrective actions, and coaching
Identify and manage training needs in accordance with IB Tech’s training matrix and ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 requirements
Facilitate maintenance department meetings and participate in daily production shift meetings
Maintenance & Reliability
Develop, manage, and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Lead maintenance activities for automation equipment repair and troubleshooting
Review equipment failures, downtime, and corrective maintenance using data to drive improvements
Establish and achieve downtime reduction targets
Maintain maintenance pass-down logs and improve processes based on data
Operations & Planning
Control daily maintenance coverage, activities, and service requests
Prioritize and delegate maintenance work orders
Manage shutdown activities for Maintenance, Facility, and MRO
Support and lead planning and implementation of new equipment installations and layout changes
Coordinate and support outside contractors as needed
Facility & MRO Management
Manage facility maintenance programs and company property upkeep
Oversee MRO functions and inventory
Control outside services (lawn care, janitorial, company housing, etc.)
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure safety compliance across all maintenance and facility activities
Conduct maintenance risk assessments
Support continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S
Financial Management
Manage departmental budgets
Monitor and control overtime
Additional Responsibilities
Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Demands
Occasionally lift up to 40 lbs; push/pull up to 100 lbs
Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs, and overhead reaching
Ability to pinch/grip small objects for extended periods
Work environment includes approximately 2 hours per day in an office setting and up to 7 hours per day in manufacturing areas
Must possess a valid driver’s license
