Senior Software Engineer:
Primary Skills: Java/Python/Go expert, API Development expert, System Design expert, Agentic Tools proficient, Distributed Systems proficientContract Type: W2Duration: 6+ MonthsLocation: San Jose, CAPay Range: $60 - $70 per hour on W2Job Summary:We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automation systems that enhance and scale support operations. The role focuses on building production-grade integrations and agentic workflows that streamline support intake, triage, routing, and resolution processes. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer with strong backend development expertise, system design knowledge, and experience building scalable, reliable services while collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain automation services and integrations such as Slack-to-Jira workflows, ticket enrichment, routing, and lifecycle synchronization.Develop agentic workflows for automated triage, summarization, context gathering, and recommendation generation using orchestration and AI frameworks.Design and deliver scalable production systems including APIs, event-driven architectures, retry mechanisms, idempotency, rate limiting, and robust error handling.Implement and maintain observability solutions including logging, monitoring, dashboards, metrics, and alerts to improve system reliability and performance.Collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams to drive adoption of automation solutions and gather feedback for continuous improvement.Create technical documentation, provide demos, and communicate project updates clearly and effectively.Ensure operational readiness, maintainability, and scalability of systems through best engineering practices. Must-Have Skills:Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or Go with a track record of building and deploying production services.Expertise in API development including REST/gRPC services, authentication/authorization, versioning, documentation, and backward compatibility.Strong understanding of system architecture, distributed systems, scalability, resilience, and operational trade-offs.Experience or strong knowledge of agentic AI frameworks/tools such as LangGraph, LangChain, orchestration frameworks, RAG patterns, evaluation, and guardrails.Hands-on experience with event-driven systems, integrations, automation workflows, and service reliability engineering.Strong debugging, problem-solving, and software engineering fundamentals.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.Self-driven, proactive mindset with strong ownership and execution capabilities.8–10 years of overall software engineering experience. Industry Experience:Experience in Support Automation, Workflow Automation, or Enterprise Productivity Platforms.Background in SaaS, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or Developer Productivity environments preferred.Experience working with AI/ML-powered automation, conversational systems, or intelligent workflow orchestration is highly desirable.Exposure to integrations involving collaboration tools (e.g., Slack), ticketing systems (e.g., Jira), and internal support platforms preferred.
