Administrative Specialist II (Casework Assistant)

As an Administrative Specialist II (Casework Assistant), you will play a vital role in supporting international child abduction/adoption cases and emergency services within a dynamic government environment. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of case management and administrative operations.Key responsibilities include:Providing support services related to international child abductions/adoptions and emergency servicesDrafting routine correspondence for supervisors and bureau officialsAssisting officers with case processing, including opening cases in databases, using correct templates, and following SOPs/guidance/FAQsDrafting and preparing cables for communicationSupporting legal assistance coordinators and Country OfficersLeading the management of section correspondenceMaintaining paper and electronic filing systems for incoming and outgoing correspondenceAnalyzing and maintaining monthly case statisticsServing as notetaker for meetings and as consular task force case worker as requestedPerforming other assigned duties as neededRequirementsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent3-5 years of administrative or casework support experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePointExperience drafting and formatting professional correspondence and documents such as letters, memorandums, and briefing papersExperience following documented SOPs, templates, and written guidance to process cases or administrative actionsActive Secret security clearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience maintaining paper and electronic filing systems for incoming and outgoing correspondenceExperience tracking and reporting monthly case or activity statistics, including compiling metrics in spreadsheets or reportsExperience supporting multiple stakeholders, such as supervisors and program or case officers, with administrative coordination and case processingBenefitsComprehensive health insurance coverage (medical, dental, vision)401(k) retirement plan with company matchingPaid time off and federal holidaysProfessional development and training opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative work environmentOn-site workplace in Washington, DC
