JOB ANNOUNCEMENTChild and Family TherapistChildrens Alliance of South Texas, a nonprofit Childrens Advocacy Center, located in Cotulla, Pleasanton, and Floresville, Texas, is seeking an individual to provide children and family therapy to children along with their caregivers that have been victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, and/or witness to violence in our COTULLA locationCHILDRENS ALLIANCE OF SOUTH TEXAS MISSION: To provide a place where trauma ends, and healing and justice begin.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide assessment, education, and treatment services to children and adults impacted by abuse and trauma as an integral part of Childrens Alliance of South Texas, A Child Advocacy Center (CAST). Work in partnership with CAST staff, and all multidisciplinary team (MDT) members to mobilize and strengthen the MDT approach to the prevention, intervention, investigation, treatment, and prosecution of child abuse. Works in a professional manner consistent with the mission, contractual agreements with funding sources, board approved policies and procedures, and directives from the Program Director and Executive Director. Background investigations will be conducted on all candidate finalists.REPORTS TO: Program DirectorSALARY: TBD on experience and certification (Range $55K-$60K)ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Provide individual, play, group, and /or family therapy.Establish and submit a schedule that designates 65% of time to direct client contactConduct regular assessmentsKeep current all case records and documentationProvide crisis intervention as neededProvide referrals to mental health resources in the communityKeep therapeutic skills current through on-going continuing educationExhibit sensitivity to and awareness of unique needs of minority cultures and diverse ethnic groupsDisplay excellent work ethicAssess client functioning and develop individualized treatment plansPrepare and present cases for clinical reviewCoordinate with Supervisor on all cases needing psychiatric/psychological consultationSupport victims in the court processProvide court testimonyAttend monthly peer supervision with CAST Clinical DepartmentParticipate in CACTX regional peer reviewsComply with CAST Employee HandbookComply with CAST Policies and Procedures ManualComply with Clinical Department Policies and ProceduresKnow and adhere to all ethical guidelines and rules as set forth by the appropriate licensing board and federal lawServe as a member of an interagency multi-disciplinary teamAttend CAST staff meetingsParticipate in strategy sessionsCommunicate with the MDT regarding victims progress /emotional state when neededConsult and collaborate with the MDT to work towards the mission of the CAST.Miscellaneous duties as assigned, including (but not limited to):Assist with general CAST operations as neededParticipate in community and special eventsParticipate in CAST committees as neededTravel for ongoing professional development as required, as well as counseling in satellite officesBe willing to have a flexible scheduleMust be self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervisionAble to represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.Must provide internal and external customer service.Must have reliable transportationAbility to work On-Call at times depending on client needs.Ability to have working transportation and travel 30-50% of the work year at certain times of the year.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Education:* Masters Degree in a mental health -related field from an accredited universityTraining (Licenses and certification):* LPC, LCSW or LPC-A, LMFT, LMFT-A current and in good standing with the state of TexasExperience:Some professional counseling experience with children, adolescents, adults, group, and individual therapyPrior experience working with abused children preferred.Experience with court testimony preferredPrior work with CPS, law enforcement agencies, and district attorneys offices preferredKnowledge Requirements:Demonstrate knowledge of and skills in play, individual, family and group therapyAbility to function collaboratively within a team environment, and take initiativeThorough knowledge of child abuse dynamicsProficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Read, write and speak English fluentlyBi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferredAbility to prepare reports and meet deadlines.JOB DISQUALIFICATIONS:* Working concurrently with known persons alleged/convicted of a crime against children is prohibited.
