Senior Software Engineer

Job Title: Senior or Staff Software EngineerLocation: San Francisco (in office)Compensation: 170-200k (some flex)+ bonus + equityWe are currently partnered with a Series A FinTech firm that specializes in developing credit / banking products for underserved communites globally in search for a Senior / Staff Engineer based out of the Bay Area to join their team.Responsibilities: Design and develop complex backend systems spanning data models, APIs, and distributed componentsOwn technical decisions from prototype to production, including scalability, performance, and fault tolerancePartner with product and leadership to translate business goals into robust, maintainable architectureIdentify and manage tradeoffs in design decisions, balancing performance, reliability, and developer experienceLead code reviews, mentor teammates, and help set best practices for engineering qualityWhat We’re Looking For8+ years of professional software development experience across multiple languages (e.g. Go, Rust, Elixir, Python, TypeScript, etc.)Strong background in system design, architecture, and building reliable APIsExperience designing and maintaining complex, production-grade distributed systemsDeep understanding of system performance, lifecycle management, and failure modesCuriosity and pragmatism when exploring new technologies — you enjoy evaluating tradeoffs and applying the right tool for the jobPrior startup experience or comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
