Ag Service Technician Apprentice

Position Specifics:Reports To: Service ManagerSupervises: NoneFLSA Code: NonexemptPurpose:Trains with an experienced service technician for a year to learn how to perform basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. Ideal candidate will have reliable attendance and a strong willingness to learn about mechanics.Responsibilities:Learns and performs basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipmentParticipates in company provided training programs required for the development of skills and knowledgeLearns knowledge of John Deere and competitive productsMaintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipmentMaintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashionFollows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsCompletes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignmentsAccounts for all time and all material used in performing assigned dutiesJob Requirements:Must be an energetic person who has a desire to learn about mechanicsAbility to perform basic repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual proceduresProficient oral and written communication skillsAbility to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposesAbility to use computer applicationsAbility to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedlyHigh School Diploma or equivalent experience preferredValid driver's license required along with a good driving recordMust maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria throughout employmentMust have reliable attendanceAbility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidaysFull-Time Benefit Packages:Paid Holidays & Vacation TimeHealth, Vision, & Dental InsuranceLife Insurance401K Plan with Company MatchRoutine Performance & Pay ReviewsFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Safety Equipment AllowanceCompany Provided UniformsAll benefits subject to change.Pay Information:The hourly pay range for this position is $17 to $22. This reflects a reasonable estimate of the targeted base hourly wage for this role. Based on factor such as geographic location and candidate qualifications, actual base pay is determined when an employment offer is made.In Season Hours : Monday-Friday 7am-5pm , Saturday 7am-12pm (rotation)Off Season/Winter Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm
