In addition to cotton marketing and warehousing services, PCCA provides innovative technology solutions to gins that help add more value to our grower-owners’ cotton.Title: Automotive / Lift Truck Technician (Shop Technician)Department: Warehouse DivisionReports To: Shop ManagerStatus: Full-Time / HourlyLocation: Altus, OkJob SummaryThe Automotive / Lift Truck Technician assists the Shop Manager with all tasks related to rolling stock and equipment within the assigned region. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and documenting service on automobiles, lift trucks, and related equipment to ensure safe, reliable operations.What You Will DoService & RepairExamine automobiles, lift trucks, and other equipment to diagnose damage or malfunctions.Plan and perform repairs and maintenance using technical manuals, charts, and professional experience.Troubleshoot and repair electrical, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and related systems.Perform metal fabrication as needed to support equipment repair and maintenance.MaintenanceTrack and perform routine preventive maintenance on all rolling stock and equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and PCCA Warehouse Division standards.Ensure equipment is maintained to maximize safety, reliability, and service life.Record KeepingMaintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance, and inspections performed.Assist the Regional Shop Supervisor in maintaining appropriate inventories of repair parts and supplies.Safety, Sanitation & SecurityMaintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.Assist in maintaining a safe and secure warehouse environment.Perform all work in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.Follow OSHA regulations, including Safety Data Sheet (SDS) standards, and demonstrate safety-conscious behavior at all times.TravelTravel to and from all plants within the assigned region as required.Travel to plants in other Warehouse Division regions may be required to support overall operational needs, such as: Liberal and Clearwater, KS.QualificationsEducation (Preferred)High School Diploma or GEDVocational/Technical SchoolAssociate’s DegreeCompletion of a vocational or technical school program may satisfy the minimum experience requirement.ExperiencePreferred: 6–12 years of direct experience in a similar automotive or lift truck technician roleKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong working knowledge of automotive and lift truck systems, including electrical, fuel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systemsKnowledge of basic shop procedures and the ability to perform work safely and efficientlySatisfactory completion of a counterbalance lift truck training course in compliance with OSHA standardsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentationAbility to fabricate or modify metal components as needed for repairsStrong organizational and documentation skillsTools & EquipmentTools provided by the company, and no personal tools are required.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsCertificates, Licenses & TrainingMust possess a valid state driver’s license or have the ability to obtain one before employmentMay be required to attend training schools as neededAny additional training not listed as a prerequisite will be provided by the PCCA Warehouse DivisionCompetenciesSkills (Preferred)Written Communication – IntermediateVerbal Communication – IntermediateRecord Keeping – Some KnowledgeSecurity Awareness – Some KnowledgeBehaviors (Preferred)Team Player: Works well as a member of a groupFunctional Expert: Demonstrates strong technical expertise and problem-solving abilityDetail-Oriented: Completes tasks thoroughly and accuratelyMotivations (Preferred)Goal Completion: Driven by task completion and resultsFlexibility: Performs well with autonomy in scheduling and goal settingSelf-Starter: Works effectively with minimal supervisionDisclaimer: This job description reflects the primary duties and responsibilities of the Automotive / Lift Truck Technician at PCCA Warehouse Division and is not intended to be all-inclusive.
