Controller - on site - Kennesaw, GeorgiaPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations for a growing company specializing in Disaster Recovery, Emergency Preparedness, General Contracting, Reconstruction and Demolition, Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA), Water Damage Restoration, and Fire Cleaning & Decontamination services.This role will oversee all day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and operational financial analysis across multiple service lines and projects. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction, restoration, or project-based accounting environments and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization.The Controller will partner closely with executive leadership to support strategic growth, improve financial processes, and ensure operational efficiency and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, job costing, fixed assets, and financial reportingManage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and ensure timely and accurate financial statementsPrepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and operational reportingLead project and job cost accounting across multiple restoration, construction, and emergency response projectsMonitor project profitability, WIP schedules, change orders, and cost trackingEnsure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, tax requirements, and audit standardsManage banking relationships, lines of credit, and cash management activitiesSupport strategic decision-making through financial analysis and KPI reportingOversee insurance billing, collections, lien waivers, and contract compliance as neededPartner with operations leadership to improve reporting visibility and operational efficiencyDevelop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and process improvementsLead, mentor, and develop accounting staff and support continued organizational growthCoordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, insurance carriers, and legal partnersQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field requiredCPA strongly preferred7+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experienceStrong background in construction, restoration, remediation, disaster recovery, or project-based accounting environments preferredExperience with job costing, WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project profitability analysisExperience managing accounting teams in a fast-paced environmentProficiency with accounting and ERP systems along with advanced Excel skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilitiesAbility to communicate effectively with both executive leadership and operational teamsPreferred ExperienceExperience in restoration, reconstruction, emergency services, or specialty contracting industriesFamiliarity with insurance-related billing and claims processesExperience supporting rapid growth, acquisitions, or operational scaling initiativesKnowledge of compliance and safety-driven operational environmentsCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary plus bonus opportunityComprehensive benefits packagePTO and paid holidaysOpportunity to join a growing and highly respected organization with strong leadership and long-term growth potential
