About the Role
The Senior Technical Business Analyst serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders, product management, and technical teams. This role is responsible for analyzing complex business and system requirements, defining functional and technical specifications, and supporting delivery of solutions that enhance recordkeeping, trading, and account administration systems. This role requires strong analytical and technical skills and is well-suited for someone who enjoys designing solutions for complex financial systems. Experience in the retirement or recordkeeping industry is strongly preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
Partner with business, operations, and technology teams to analyze, document, and prioritize business requirements for recordkeeping and financial applications.
Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications, data mappings, across financial transactions, positions, and account data.
Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure designs align with product and regulatory requirements.
Conduct impact analysis and participate in solution design sessions to ensure system compatibility and performance.
Support end-to-end project delivery, from requirements to UAT and deployment.
Drive documentation consistency and maintain traceability between business and technical requirements.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve system reliability.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
57 years of experience as a Business Analyst or System Analyst, or similar role within financial services or technology.
Proven record creating technical specification documents, data mapping, and system interface definitions.
Required Skills
Solid understanding of retirement plan administration (401(k), 403(b), pension, etc.) and financial data flows.
Strong understanding of data models, integration protocols, and SQL.
Familiarity with APIs (REST) and data exchange between systems.
Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Lucid, or similar collaboration tools.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience with financial data exchange standards.
Exposure to retirement plan administration, investment operations, or compliance environments.
Understanding Agile methodologies and cross-functional technology teams.
