Security Guard / Part Time Overnight
The Study at Yaleis currently seeking aPart Time Overnight Security Guard. The Security Guard is responsible for protecting the client and assigned property from any criminal activity or trespassing.Our caring and attentive associates reinforce our principal belief that guest service is our highest priority. We have opportunities for energetic, service-oriented individuals who are experienced in providing efficient service and memorable experiences.ResponsibilitiesSurveillance – Patrol the grounds or building as assigned, regularly. If suspicious activity is detected, refer to the local authorities. Review surveillance cameras and monitor crowds as needed. Establish and review the identification required to enter the building or property. Verify all doors, windows and gates are secure on the property on a rotating schedule. Escort released employees off the property as well as any other trespassers.Investigation – Respond to any alerts of suspicious activity. If a person is under suspicion of criminal activity, secure the environment and person, and report to the local authorities. Perform other related duties as assigned.Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entryObtains help by sounding alarmsPrevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassersCompletes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signaturesMaintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controlsEnsures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniquesContributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededResponds to and investigates complaints and concernsFundamentalsEducation: High school diploma or equivalentSecurity guard training certification preferredAbility to remain calm in high-pressure situations while exhibiting patience and a superb attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent observational skills and previous surveillance experience, preferably in a law enforcement environmentExperience in customer service. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Has excellent driving recordAbility to positively communicate and interact with all hotel departmentsProficiency in English required. A second language is desirable.
