Job Title: Resident Assistant / CNA ClassLocation: Wellspring Skilled Nursing & Rehab - MonroeReports to: CNA Supervisor / Director of Nursing (DON)Position Type: Full-time | HourlyWellspring is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Resident Assistant to join Monroe Skilled Nursing and Rehab team. In this position, you'll be directly supporting your community in Monroe and receive paid training and testing to become licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). ResponsibilitiesProvide individualized attention, which encourages each resident's ability to maintain or attain the highest level of independence and physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.Be knowledgeable of the individualized information for residents; and provide non-nursing support to the resident within the Resident Assistant scope of dutiesAssist with transporting residents in wheelchairs only (no SBA), Passing of linen, making beds, tray delivery and pick up, passing of water, putting away supplies, answering call lights and fulfilling non-nursing resident requests (such as closing curtains, filling water, changing TV channel, etc.) and any other assignments.Maintain the comfort, privacy, and personal dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to themUnderstand and comply with all aspects of residents' rights and other facility policies and procedures including safety and infection control proceduresAssist in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment; report environmental deficiencies such as lighting or equipment problems to the supervisor or appropriate staffProtect the personal belongings of each resident; promptly report missing items according to established policy and participate in efforts to locate missing itemsObserve residents for changes in condition or behavior and promptly report these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnelAnswer residents' call lights promptly and courteously and seek nursing personnel for all care requests.Welcome and orient new residents and families to the facility.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Experience with working within a senior living environment, preferred.Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to compassionate care.Schedule and CompensationCNA Class Start Date: May / June 2026While Enrolled in the CNA Class (RA Role): Employment Status: Full TimeShift: 8 hours, 11:00am - 7:30pmPay Rate: $13.73 per hourWeekends: Every other weekendAfter CNA Class Completion: Employment Status: Full-TimeShift: 8 hours, 3:00pm-11:00pmPay Rate: $16.00 per hourWeekends: Every other weekendAs a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA):Employment Status: Full TimeShift: 8 hours, 3:00pm - 11:00pmPay Rate: $18.00 per hour + $2.00 shift differential + wage pass throughWeekends: Every other weekendBenefitsPaid Wellspring CNA Training Program, including classroom and hands-on learning with the skilled nursing staff at the campus to earn your CNA CertificationOne company-paid state CNA exam upon class completionHealth, Dental, and Vision InsurancePTO and Paid Holidays403(b) Retirement Plans + matchingDailyPay – access your earned wages anytime.Wellspring SupportLinc - employee assistance programClinical supervision, support and trainingMeaningful connections with residents and team membersLocationWellspring Lutheran Services - Monroe Skilled Nursing & Rehab1236 S Monroe StMonroe MI 48161Join Wellspring to use your skills and compassion to make a difference in the lives of seniors in Monroe.
