Our Atlanta, GA location is seeking a full-time machinist for a 2nd or 3rd shift position.Conceptual skills: Skilled on manual lathe, mills, bandsaw, and basic hand tools.Essential duties and responsibilities:Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, machining parameters, interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.Set-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.Able to drill and tap, use grooving and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions, sharpening, and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.Other duties as assigned or required.Education and/or experience: 2-5 years' experience with manual lathe/mill. High school diploma or GED required.Language skills: Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.Mathematical skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Physical demands: Ability to move or transfer products with an overhead crane. Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
