Job Title: Embedded/Firmware EngineerLocation: San Jose, CA (Onsite)Client: Cisco SystemsEmployment Type: Full-Time / ContractJob Summary:Cisco Systems is seeking an experienced Embedded/Firmware Engineer to support the bring-up, validation, and diagnostics development of next-generation networking platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Embedded C programming, bare-metal software development, hardware bring-up, and low-level debugging.This role involves close collaboration with hardware, ASIC, and platform design teams to enable and validate new hardware designs and custom network switch ASICKey Responsibilities:Develop and maintain embedded firmware in C for networking platforms.Perform board bring-up and hardware validation for new platform designs.Work closely with hardware engineers to debug and resolve system-level issues.Develop diagnostic and validation software for platform testing.Collaborate with ASIC teams during custom network switch ASIC bring-up activities.Analyze hardware schematics, component datasheets, and technical documentation.Debug low-level hardware/software integration issues.Support system testing, troubleshooting, and platform verificatRequired Qualifications:Minimum 4 years of experience programmingin C.Strong experience with Embedded Software/Firmware Development.Hands-on experience with Bare Metal programming.Experience with board bring-up, hardware validation, and debugging.Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture.Ability to read and interpret hardware schematics, component datasheets, and user manuals.Experience working with x86 processor-based platforms.Strong debugging and problem-solving skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with networking or telecom products.Familiarity with custom ASIC bring-up and validation.Experience developing manufacturing or platform diagnostics.Exposure to bootloaders, low-level drivers, and hardware interfaces.
