This is a safety sensitive position.Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals withDisabilities To Perform The Essential Functions.Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road,site or highway construction and paving.Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures. Brings problemsto the attention of the foreman, superintendent, safety director or HRmanager.Follows daily procedures and protocols as set forth in joborientations and trainings.Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assignedequipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the supervisor; cleansequipment.Assists in the installation and maintenance of traffic controldevices. Controls traffic at worksites by flagging to guide trafficthrough work areas, as required or assigned.Assists in training lower-level employees performing the maintenanceand repair duties as required or assigned.CompetenciesCommunication Proficiency.Decision Making.Learning Orientation.Personal Effectiveness/Credibility.Results Driven.Technical Capacity.Thoroughness.Time Management.Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequentlyexposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts andvibration. The employee is exposed to a variety of extreme weatherconditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the workenvironment and job sites can be loud.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those thatmust be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to talk and hear. This position is very active and requiresstanding, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling andclimbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Specificvision abilities required by this job include close vision, distancevision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability toadjust focus.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday throughSaturday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., 45 hours per week. Working hours mayvary due to job necessity.
