Civil Estimator

Civil EstimatorThe Land/Site Development Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for sitework projects, including earthwork, utilities, clearing, grading, and paving. This role involves analyzing civil plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, evaluating means and methods, and collaborating with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors to develop complete bid proposals. The estimator plays a critical role in risk assessment, constructability review, and ensuring projects are bid profitably and executed efficiently.ResponsibilitiesPrepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for sitework projects.Analyze civil plans and specifications.Perform quantity takeoffs with an emphasis on earthwork and underground utilities.Evaluate construction means and methods, production rates, and equipment usage.Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors.Develop complete bid proposals.Conduct risk assessments and constructability reviews.Essential Skills37 years of experience estimating sitework projects such as earthwork, utilities, grading, and paving.Strong ability to read and interpret civil/site plans, including profiles, details, and specifications.Proven experience performing quantity takeoffs with emphasis on earthwork and underground utilities.Working knowledge of site construction means and methods, production rates, and equipment usage.Proficiency with estimating tools, including Excel (required) and Bluebeam, Agtek/Trimble, or similar (preferred).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Mdot, Blueprint, Bidding, and Commercial construction.Work EnvironmentThe office is open to remote work, providing flexibility in the work environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pierson, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $43.00 - $58.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
