5th & 6th grade teacher

Indianola Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-focused 5th & 6th Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality instruction in a supportive, engaging classroom environment that promotes academic growth and positive character development.Key Responsibilities:Teach core subjects (ELA, and social studies) for 5th and 6th grade studentsDeliver instruction aligned with the Oklahoma Academic Standards (OAS)Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learnersCreate a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environmentAssess student progress and adjust instruction based on dataPrepare students for state assessments through effective instruction and practiceCommunicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progressCollaborate with staff to support student achievement and school improvement goalsIncorporate technology and hands-on learning opportunitiesRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related fieldValid Oklahoma teaching certification (or ability to obtain)Strong classroom management and instructional skillsKnowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional strategiesAbility to work effectively with upper elementary students Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching upper elementary grades (5th-6th preferred)Familiarity with Oklahoma state standards and testing expectationsExperience using data to guide instructionStrong communication and teamwork skills
