Landscape Technician

Landscape Technician Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, assists with sprinkler installation, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Entry level; requires supervision. Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire upon suspicion of use and post-accident. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Obtaining driver's license not required. However to receive reimbursement of driver's license expenses and potential hourly bonus pay, those workers will be expected to periodically drive company vehicles as needed. On-the-job training will be provided to the worker. Place(s) of Employment: 25255 Pleasant Valley Rd Chantilly, VA 20152 and multiple worksites within Fairfax City(VA), Calvert(MD), Charles(MD), Frederick(MD), Howard(MD), Montgomery(MD), Prince George's(MD), Arlington(VA), Fairfax(VA), Loudoun(VA), Frederick(VA), Fauquier(VA), Prince William(VA), Rappahannock(VA), Spotsylvania(VA), Stafford(VA), Warren(VA), Alexandria(VA), Manassas(VA), Manassas Park(VA) and District of Columbia(DC) cities/counties. Standard Schedule: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM, Monday Friday 40 hours per week. Board / Lodging: If requested, employer helps non-local workers secure optional worker-paid lodging. Wage: $20.87 per hour (OT hours vary @ $31.31 per hour). Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at employer's discretion, based on individual factors such as performance, skill, and tenure. Deductions: Employer makes all payroll deductions required by law. Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include the following: Voluntary advances and/or loans made to workers, if any, may be repaid by pre-authorized payroll deductions. Employer deducts reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilities based on number of occupants for workers electing to reside in employer-arranged housing (cost TBD). Holiday pay provided to all eligible workers in the position. Tools / Supplies / Equipment: Employer provides without charge company-specific uniform and all tools, supplies and equipment necessary to perform duties assigned. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the field. Ability to complete required safety courses upon hire. Ability to complete Davey Career Development Program (CDP) books. Ability to acquire applicator licenses as necessary per state requirements. Ability to operate power equipment.
