Total of 24-32 hrs/week.Job SummaryAre you passionate about nutrition and making a real difference in people’s lives? As a Diet Tech, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our nutrition team to deliver exceptional care and wellness to our residents. In this dynamic position, you’ll collaborate with registered dietitians, healthcare professionals, and kitchen staff to ensure that every meal meets the highest standards of health, safety, and satisfaction.What You'll DoInterview residents to determine dietary requirements and record plans in medical charts using precise medical terminology.Support dietitians in assessing and documenting resident nutrition needs.Monitor and ensure compliance with prescribed and medically restricted diets.Educate residents and families on dietary guidelines and optimal nutritional intake.Determine WIC eligibility by identifying risk factors.Assist with menu planning and food service operations.Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate meal preparation.Maintain records of dietary intake and interventions.Conduct research and create PowerPoint presentations for wellness programs.Uphold food safety and sanitation standards.Other duties as assigned What You Will BringAssociate’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field (or equivalent experience)Accredited Diet Technician program and DTR credential preferredKnowledge of nutrition, therapeutic diets, and food safetyHealthcare, food service, or community nutrition experience preferredAccurate dietary documentation using medical terminologyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficient with Microsoft Office and electronic health recordsOrganized, detail-oriented, and able to educate patients/familiesFlexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends/holidaysAbility to pass a criminal background check and drug screenServSafe® Certification and State Food Handler CardPhysical And Sensory RequirementsThis job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur.
