Certified Medical AssistantAs part of our team, the Medical Assistants work closely with our providers and patients. More specifically, they interview patients, measure vital signs, document all information in patients charts and assist the Providers in exam rooms. Additionally, they maintain logs, keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies and handle calls as appropriate.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patients' chartsAssist providers in exam rooms; give instructions to patients as instructed by the providersProvide compassionate, quality care to patients and caregivers in urgent need/crisisPerform certain procedures such as blood draw, EKG, etc.Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as requiredProvide feedback and answers to patient/provider/pharmacy callsMaintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)All other duties as assigned by Practice Manager or Practice AdministratorRequirementsAdditional Requirements:High school diploma; some college preferredSuccessful completion of medical assistant programActive medical assistant certificationActive BLS certification through an AHA accredited programAbility to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flowAbility to perform phlebotomy and administer injectionsKnowledge of medical terminologyExceptional customer service and phone etiquetteAbility to maintain professionalism and provide quality care in a fast-paced, public environment
