Oncology experience is required. The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients with cancer-related impairments, such as pain, fatigue, lymphedema, and functional limitations. The goal is to improve the quality of life and mobility for these patients. Individualized, evidence-based exercise programs will be created. The role includes providing patient education and coordinating care with oncologists. Responsibilities involve managing musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiovascular needs across the cancer continuum. The Physical Therapist works from diagnosis to rehabilitation, survivorship, and palliative care. Physical therapy aims to build strength, regain mobility, and improve balance. It can also help reduce pain and prevent future injury. The ideal candidate will treat one patient at a time. Typical patient load includes 2 to 3 evaluations per day, followed by treatment sessions. Working with patients includes adapting to artificial limbs and improving movement or ability. The therapist may also work with patients recovering from surgery or managing chronic illnesses. Experience with standard PT modalities is expected, and specific device training will be provided. The typical patient population includes adults, but experience with all age groups is welcome. Time off requests must be noted and verified during the application process. Dress code includes personal scrubs of any color or business casual attire. No open toe or back shoes are permitted.
