We’re Hiring: Experienced (5-10 years +) Tax Lawyer – Federal & State ControversyLocation: Manhattan, NY: Full-Time In OfficeGoldburd McCone LLP, a busy tax and tax controversy law firm, is seeking an experienced tax lawyer to join our growing Manhattan practice. This is a hands-on role for someone who can run their own cases, handle high-stakes federal and state tax disputes, and review junior associate work.We welcome current or former IRS and NYS tax attorneys looking to transition to private practice.Responsibilities:Manage federal and state tax cases from start to finishRepresent clients in IRS and NYS audits, appeals, collections, and litigationAppear in U.S. Tax Court, NYS Division of Tax Appeals, and administrative hearingsReview and guide junior associates’ work productNegotiate with IRS and NYS representativesAdvise on compliance, voluntary disclosures, and offshore reportingRequirements:J.D. and admission to the New York Bar5-10+ years of substantive tax law experience (controversy, litigation, or planning)Ability to manage a caseload independentlyStrong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, IRS procedures, and NYS tax enforcementSalary: $150,000 – $250,000 annually, depending on experience, plus performance bonuses.
