Investment Management Counsel (Santa Rosa)
Our client, a globally recognized investment firm with more than $80B in assets under management, is seeking to add an attorney to its legal team in San Francisco. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a sophisticated and highly collaborative in-house legal department supporting a dynamic investment platform with a broad range of investment strategies and business lines. The role offers meaningful exposure to regulatory, fund, corporate, and investment advisory matters, as well as the opportunity to grow into a well-rounded legal and compliance practitioner within a fast-paced global organization. The successful candidate will work closely with investment professionals, client service teams, and senior leadership on a wide variety of legal and compliance matters arising under U.S. securities and investment advisory laws. The legal team is viewed as a strategic business partner and plays an integral role across the organization's operations and growth initiatives. This position is based in San Francisco and follows a hybrid (4:1) work schedule.Base salary range of approximately $180,000 – $210,000, plus eligibility for a highly competitive bonus and comprehensive benefits package.Responsibilities:Advise internal stakeholders on compliance with U.S. securities and investment advisory laws, including matters arising under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940Provide legal and compliance support related to the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and related federal and state securities regulationsMonitor and interpret regulatory developments and assist with implementation of policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliancePartner cross-functionally with investment, operations, and client service teams on legal, compliance, and risk management initiativesAssist with regulatory examinations, audits, inquiries, and coordination with outside counsel as neededSupport compliance training initiatives and broader legal department projects across multiple business linesContribute to a wide range of general corporate, fund, contractual, and strategic legal matters as part of a collaborative in-house legal teamRequired Qualifications:J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing4+ years of relevant experience at a leading law firm and/or sophisticated in-house legal departmentStrong knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and related securities regulationsExcellent analytical, drafting, communication, and problem-solving skillsStrong commercial judgment and ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environmentCollaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and with senior leadershipInterest in developing into a broad-based legal and compliance generalist role supporting multiple business functionsFamiliarity with international securities and investment advisory regulations, particularly in the UK and Singapore, is a plusIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.The Solomon Page DistinctionOur teams, comprised of subject matter experts, develop an interest in your preferences and goals and we act as an advisor for your career advancement.
