Java Software Engineer
Senior Java Full Stack Developer *Must Be US Citizen or GC/W2 hourly or Salary ONLY. The Java Full Stack Developer to join our technology team at a leading retail bank. This role involves designing, developing, and delivering enterprise-grade custom microservice applications using modern Java technologies and Angular framework. You will lead development efforts on mission-critical applications such as our billing platforms while mentoring development team members and driving technical excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end development of custom microservice-based applications using Java Spring Boot and AngularDesign and implement scalable, resilient microservices architecture for enterprise applicationsDevelop RESTful APIs and integrate microservices with internal and external systemsBuild responsive, user-friendly front-end applications using Angular frameworkDesign and optimize Oracle database schemas, stored procedures, and queriesLead technical design sessions and create architectural documentationWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standardsConduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to development team membersMentor junior and mid-level developers on technical skills and development methodologiesCollaborate with business analysts, architects, and product owners to translate requirements into technical solutionsImplement CI/CD pipelines and promote DevOps practicesPerform application performance tuning and optimizationTroubleshoot production issues and provide technical supportEnsure security best practices and compliance standards are metParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectivesDrive technical innovation and evaluate new technologies for potential adoptionRequired Qualifications/ SkillsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field8+ years of professional software development experience with at least 3+ years in a lead or senior roleStrong expertise in Java 11+ and Spring Boot framework for microservices developmentProven experience building microservices architecture with RESTful APIsStrong proficiency in Angular (Angular 12+ preferred) for front-end developmentExpert knowledge of Oracle database including SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuningSolid understanding of microservices design patterns (Circuit Breaker, API Gateway, Service Discovery, etc.)Experience with version control systems (Git) and branching strategiesKnowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Strong understanding of design patterns and SOLID principlesExperience with Agile/Scrum methodologiesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsStrong communication and leadership abilitiesExcellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilitiesEffective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to balance technical debt with feature deliveryProven track record of delivering complex enterprise applicationsSelf-motivated with strong ownership mindsetAdaptable and quick learnerCollaborative team player with cross-functional experienceCustomer-focused approach to software developmentStrong understanding of financial calculations and accuracy requirementsPreferred QualificationsExperience with IBM MQ or other message queuing systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka)Hands-on experience with billing applications or financial transaction processing systemsKnowledge of billing cycles, rate calculations, and fee processingExperience with Spring Cloud components (Config Server, Eureka, Zuzu/Gateway)Familiarity with OAuth 2.0, JWT, and Spring SecurityExperience with test automation frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma)Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Splunk, ELK Stack, Dynatrace, AppDynamics)Understanding of API management platforms (Apigee, MuleSoft)Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Knowledge of caching solutions (Redis, Hazelcast)Familiarity with banking/financial services applications and payment systemsExperience with batch processing and job scheduling frameworks (Spring Batch, Quartz)Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX.
