Electrical Engineer

Position SummaryWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical components and circuit boards (PCBs/PCA) for automotive diagnostic tools and accessories. This role involves working on high-speed digital circuits, embedded microcontrollers, analog circuits, and battery-powered handheld devices from concept through production.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign multi-layer PCBs and electrical circuits using tools like Altium Designer or OrCAD.Select automotive-grade electronic components such as microcontrollers, sensors, and communication modules.Work with communication protocols including Bluetooth, CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and OBD-II.Develop power management systems for battery-operated devices, including charging and protection circuits.Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of prototypes and production hardware.Conduct signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and hardware validation testing.Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Testability (DFT) activities.Collaborate with firmware teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners during product development.Required QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.3–5 years of experience in electronics hardware design, preferably in handheld devices or automotive electronics.Strong experience with PCB design and circuit simulation tools such as Altium, OrCAD, PSpice, LTspice, or MATLAB/Simulink.Knowledge of embedded systems and ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.Understanding of safety and compliance standards such as CE, UL, AEC-Q, and IEC 61010.Good communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within project timelines.Willingness to travel up to 10% if required.Preferred QualificationsExperience with automotive electrical systems and diagnostic protocols like CAN Bus and OBD-II.Knowledge of ERP and PLM systems for engineering change management.Automotive industry experience is a plus.Bilingual English/Spanish skills are an advantage.
