Usually performing their duties in a utility capacity, the experienced laborer position entails working on construction projects, often transferring from one task to another whenever the situation requires. This job requires teamwork, as you will be working most of the time in a crew of other laborers, and under the direction of a supervisor/foreperson. Must have prior laborer experience.Why work for Harnden Construction Services?Competitive salary commensurate with experienceVeteran owned100% Company-paid Health Benefits401(k) Savings and Investment PlanTuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programsAdditional training opportunities including on the job, online through the H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and moreResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies.Acquires tools needed for daily operationsMeasures distances from grade stakes, drives stakes, and stretches tight line.Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks up under forms.Signals operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to conform to grade specifications.Levels earth to fine grade specifications.Mixes concrete.Smooths and finishes freshly poured cement or concrete.Positions, joins, aligns, and seals pipe sections.Erects scaffolding, shoring, and braces.Paving Duties:Assists with pre-run markingsUses a paving lute to fine grade before roller man compactsOperates vibratory plate as neededShovels asphalt as requiredDirect traffic around work area as requiredPipe Duties:Gets tools needed for daily operationsGets job set up for daily function such as setting up a pipe laserOperates a Wacker and jumping jack to perform backfilling dutiesUses cut saws to make pipe proper lengthPreps pipe for connection before pipe gets loweredShoots grades and checks grades using laser or conventional methodsPerforms connection of pipe workResponsible for checking for proper pipe slopePreps structures for installationOther duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Skills, Education, and Experience:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
