Controller
Our client is seeking a Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, controls, and operational finance for a dynamic organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader with experience in food and beverage, hospitality, private club, or resort environments. The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, deliver timely financial reporting, support long-range planning, and partner with leadership on financial strategy and performance. This is an in-office role.Key Responsibilities:Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, balance sheets, cash flow reporting, and related analysis.Maintain strong internal controls and help safeguard assets, ensure compliance, and reduce risk.Coordinate the annual audit and oversee federal, state, and local tax filing processes.Oversee daily accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and member billing.Lead the annual operating and capital budgeting process in partnership with leadership.Perform monthly variance analysis across departments and provide actionable financial insight to improve results.Support labor, pricing, cost management, and operational analytics to drive efficiency and service performance.Manage cash flow forecasting, capital planning, reserve tracking, and longer-term financial modeling.Prepare clear, board-ready reporting for leadership, Finance Committee, and Board presentations.Lead and develop accounting staff while helping elevate processes and overall department performance.Oversee financial systems, payroll, billing, point-of-sale platforms, and related vendor relationships.Serve as a key contact for auditors, banks, insurance providers, and external partners.Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and broader risk management initiatives.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.CPA, CMA, or CHAE preferred.5 to 7+ years of progressive accounting or finance leadership experience.Experience in food and beverage, hospitality, private club, or resort settings strongly preferred.Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and cash flow management.Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required.Experience with North Star or similar club ERP software is a plus.Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders and executive leadership.Collaborative, service-oriented leadership style with strong judgment, integrity, and attention to detail.If you are a hands-on Controller with hospitality or club industry experience and a strong operational finance background, we encourage you to apply.Based on general knowledge.
