And, you can rest assured that your wellbeing and prosperity are our priority.Get to know us: About - Gesa Credit UnionRole Summary:The Sr. Home Loan Underwriter is responsible for making consistent quality loan decisions on residential mortgage loans in accordance with company and agency standards. This person will be member-focused and offer alternative solutions to meet the members financial needs. This role may be involved in several types of mortgage lending (Conventional, Portfolio, and Home Equity). This position has proven the ability to handle significant responsibilities in addition to the Mortgage Underwriter II role. This position acts as a resource for other Underwriters and Operations staff, answering questions, conducting training and acting as a mentor.What You Will Be Doing:Analyze income, credit, assets, and loan application according to company and agency underwriting guidelines to produce a sound credit decisionComply with TRID, Ability to Repay/Qualified Mortgage rules and other compliance regulations Ensure Loan Origination System reflects accurate loan dataPerform a thorough analysis of collateral to ensure property meets company and agency guidelines and the appraisal quality and completeness is acceptableWorks in tandem with loan officers and operations staff to address loan conditions, questions, issues, and problem solvesCollaborate with management on counter offers and exceptionsIssue denials, suspensions, and counteroffersMaintain ongoing knowledge of company and agency guidelines, updates, and trendsManage a pipeline and achieve production and turn-time standards set forth by managementDisplay mutual respect, trust, and dignity, while acting in the best interest of the credit union following all policies and procedures as expected by management.
