We encourage out of the box thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and creativity.Position SummaryThe Manufacturing Operator is responsible for performing all manufacturing processes related to the Ocular Therapeutix’s products. The Operator is an integral part of our team and will be responsible for manufacturing activities by following appropriate SOP(s) and supervisor direction, in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and company policy and proceduresPrincipal Duties And Responsibilities Include The FollowingPerform various manufacturing processes by following documented SOPs and procedures, calculating requirements, weighing materials, and operating various equipment. Processes include, but are not limited to, formulation, inspection, in-process packaging, and finished product packagingOperates laboratory instruments such as balances, pH meters, conductivity meters, mixers, etc. Complete documentation (batch records, process routers, forms, etc.) as required throughout the manufacturing processExecution of routine commercial or clinical production operations. Apply GMP and GDP guidelines to all activitiesWork in an environmentally controlled area (ECA) as requiredKeep manufacturing areas orderly and clean according to associated SOPs. Maintain gowning area, process area and stocking production area with suppliesTroubleshoot minor issues as they arise related to equipment and/or manufacturing processesCarry out work in a safe manner, notifying management of safety issues and risksReports procedural deviations and nonconformance to managementInteract with the cross functional teams including Quality Control department for the planning of testing, sample submission and monitoring activitiesMaintains current training on all assigned procedures to include read & understood, skills development and classroom training activities as requiredPerform other duties as requiredQualification RequirementsHigh-school education or equivalent required; Associate degree or biotechnology certificate strongly preferred1-3 years related experience in a cGMP manufacturing environmentClean room experience is preferredWorking ConditionsAbility to gown and gain entry to pharmaceutical manufacturing areas; ability to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses/goggles, gloves, and safety shoesAbility to lift, pull or push equipment requiring up to 25-50 lbs.; ability to stand for 6 hours in a production suiteAbility to climb ladders and work platformsAbility to work flexible hours to complete work activitiesAbility to work around chemicals (alcohols, acids & bases)Salary Range: $55,000 USD - $60,000 USDOcular Therapeutix is an Equal Opportunity Employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding nondiscrimination.
