Summary Description: MINIMUM REQUIREMENT 1-2 YEARS OF AUTOMOTIVE OR INDUSTRIAL PAINTING An Industrial Painter is a professional who specializes in painting various structures. Their primary role is to apply protective coatings or decorative finishes to surfaces such as racks, equipment, and other industrial structures. Duties & Responsibilities: · Operate automated spray guns to paint industrial racks. Operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare items for application of paint, lacquer or other protective or decorative coatings. · Operate automated spray paint, dip or flow coating equipment or other mechanized painting or product coating application equipment. · Operate hand-held spray guns to spray paint or coat stationary items or items with protective or decorative coatings. · Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes. · Clean paint machines and equipment as well as workstation. · Clean and maintain painting and coating, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment. · May prepare and apply stencils, computer-generated decals, or other decorative items on finished products. · Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed. Qualification Requirements: · Familiar with different types of surface treatment such as abrasive blasting, metal pickling, industrial degreasing, and others. · Ability to operate an overhead crane. · Excellent attention to detail · Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications. Physical, Environmental & Cognitive Requirements: · Moving/lifting up to 50 lbs. · Must be able to continuously stand for all or most of a regular work shift, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
