Tax Office Clerk and Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant

Guardian CPA LLC is a small accounting, tax, and business advisory practice with a couple full time employees. Small in size, our clients appreciate the close relationship we share and come to us for personal and business needs. Our team works closely with each other and many responsibilities are co-shared, especially during the tax season.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a full time (35-40 hours a week) associate to assist with duties in a professional office place. The individual must be highly motivated, adaptable and detail-oriented to join our team as a Tax Office Clerk and Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing bookkeeping for our business clients and various administrative duties in a tax office, including client interaction, data entry, and self-check quality reviews (manager reviews follow).
Key Responsibilities:
Providing excellent client service with a professional demeanor
Client Interaction: answer phone calls/emails; assist in scheduling appts; client info exchange
Accurately inputting data into the tax office’s database and related software
Maintaining accurate records of all transactions and client communications
Performing bookkeeping needs, including categorizing, reconciliations, and clean up of accounts
Assisting with bookkeeping diagnostics, clean up activity, and setting up new client accounts
Performing other administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Confidentiality and Trust are essential and expected attributes of all employees and employees will be expected to follow defined privacy policies on day 1 of employment
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Accounting / bookkeeping certificate or QuickBooks Online certification highly desired; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
1+ years of bookkeeping and administrative experience required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel will be leveraged)
Experience with QuickBooks Online and Tax Preparation software desired.
