Conejo Free Clinic is a nonprofit, volunteer-powered clinic dedicated to providing free medical, dental, and legal services to uninsured and underserved individuals in our community.CFC is seeking a Development & Programs Assistant to provide key support to the Executive Director and help advance external partnerships, fundraising, community engagement, and day-to-day operations. This is a highly collaborative, hands-on role for someone who is organized, adaptable, and motivated by the clinic’s mission.The role is dynamic, community-facing, and relationship-driven, offering a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in how a nonprofit operates. The position provides exposure to fundraising, partnerships, programs, volunteer engagement, communications, and organizational management. The ideal candidate is dependable, proactive, comfortable building authentic relationships, and able to represent the clinic in a genuine, approachable, and professional manner.Key Responsibilities Development & Fundraising SupportResearch prospective donors, grants, and funding opportunitiesAssist with grant applications, reporting, and grant-related documentationGather data and supporting materials for grant submissions and help track deadlines, deliverables, and follow-up tasks to ensure timely completionSupport donor engagement, stewardship, follow-up, and retention effortsDraft donor communications, including thank-you letters and stewardship materialsAssist with fundraising campaigns, events, and sponsorship outreachSupport storytelling efforts by gathering stories, photos, and content for newsletters, social media, donor communications, and outreach materialsProgram SupportAssist with volunteer recruitment, including physicians, dentists, nurses, and legal professionalsHelp maintain relationships with volunteers and community partnersCoordinate with program staff to support volunteer and program needsAttend community events and represent Conejo Free Clinic in a warm, professional, and approachable wayAdministrative Support Support the Executive Director with scheduling, follow-up, and managing special projectsTake notes during meetings and prepare action itemsPrepare reports, agendas, meeting materials, and planning documentsHelp keep projects moving by tracking deadlines, next steps, and follow-up itemsQualificationsStrong organizational and multitasking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to build relationships and represent the organization professionallySelf-starter with strong attention to detail and follow-throughProficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Drive)Interest in nonprofit work, healthcare access, or community-based programsExperience in development, customer service, event planning, or program coordination preferredExperience with CRM systems a plusBilingual in Spanish a plusCompensation & ScheduleSalary: $50,000–$60,000, commensurate with experienceSchedule: Approximately 40 hours per week; hybrid (office, home, and community-based work)Flexibility: Paid time off and flexible schedulingPlease send cover letter and resume to: EileenHarris@conejofreeclinic.org
