Manager on Duty - Evening Events

Manager On Duty The City of Shoreview is accepting applications for our Manager on Duty position to work some Friday & Saturday evenings. These hours will be limited and will depend on facility rentals. The hours are approximately 7:30 pm to 2:00 am, or until set-up for the next day is complete. The Shoreview Community Center is a fast-paced environment with over 500,000 visitors to our facility each year. The Community Center has two banquet rooms, meeting rooms, a fireside lounge reception area, a gymnasium, fitness studios, a running/walking track, fitness center, indoor water park, child care center, locker rooms and more. Our Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of classes and programs throughout the facility as well. Duties Include Provide information and assistance to guests and staff including addressing customer concerns and complaints Interpret and enforce Community Center rules for patrons Write daily event reports and complete event check out forms with patrons Complete room set-ups including tables, chairs, technology, etc. Perform in accordance with appropriate safety & security procedures Arrive on time for shift Maintain timesheet with accurate number of hours worked Find substitute to work shift if a planned absence is necessary Other duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: One year customer service experience High school diploma or equivalent At least 18 years of age Ability to lift and move 50 pounds Ability to work Friday & Saturday evenings/nights Preferred Qualifications: Managerial experience Additional customer service experience Supervisory experience Current CPR & First Aid certifications Valid driver's license and satisfactory motor vehicle report Other This is a part-time position. Hours are based on business needs and applicants' availability. Must be able to work weekends. In addition, we are open 364 days a year with limited hours on holidays including Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. We are closed on Christmas Day. Physical demands and work environment: The physical work environment for an Evening Event MOD (Manager on Duty) is a fast-paced and customer-focused position. The role requires prolonged standing and walking throughout the event while supervising multiple areas, assisting guests, coordinating with staff and vendors, and responding to operational needs. Employees will lift or move light to moderate event materials up to 50 pounds and work in environments with loud music, crowds, and high activity levels.
