Plant Operator, Ft. Bragg
ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP® is hiring a Plant Operator to join our Operations Services team located at our Fort Bragg Facility in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This position is onsite.The Plant Operator is responsible for plant operations and overseeing boiler, chiller, and auxiliary equipment operation under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure reliable, efficient and cost-effective long-term operation.The Essential Functions Of The Position Include Responsible for the day-to-day operations of all plant equipmentMonitors the operation of major plant equipment and systems (Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, and auxiliary equipment) that support delivery of Hot Water, Chilled WaterTake appropriate actions to ensure safety and delivery of the hot and chilled water are within prescribed bands, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirementsWork to support the overall plant operationOperate plant control/HMI devices as appropriateWork a rotating shift that includes 12-hour shifts on both days and nights, with some periods of being the only one on shiftProvide on-call after hours supportCommunicate with supervisors/management as to job progress and issues of assigned workResponsible for safe work practices and implementation of operational excellenceParticipate in spill equipment deployment and emergency responseMaintain plant operating records and logsObtain measurements and readings, and compare with industry/manufacturer standardsImplement corrective actions within established proceduresIdentify and correct problemsReport problems requiring further action to ManagementPerform routine equipment and safety checks and inspectionsPerform minor preventative maintenance activities within capabilities, as assignedPerform Water Chemistry Analysis and assist in maintaining water chemistry, as appropriateCompletes all Company and Regulatory training including computer-based trainingConduct Job Safety Analysis as requiredTrain other plant personnel, as appropriate, and cross train with others to ensure maximum plant readinessEnforce all safety requirements including, but not limited to:Issues work permits in compliance with safe work practices and ensures contractor safetyPerform random security inspections and various security checks around the plantsPerform Lockout/Tagout of all facility equipmentWork in confined spaces and perform confined space entryWear a Fall Protection when conditions requireOperate a man lift or scissor lift and forklift safelyUse appropriate PPE at all timesAbove all work safely and comply with all OSHA regulationsMaintain a clean and orderly work area (requiring cleaning of non-office areas and maintaining the cleanliness of the Control Rooms and plants)Orders/purchases materials and supplies as requiredMaintain preventative and repair work records and logs in the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (including processing inventory transactions for work orders via the CMMS)Perform other duties as deemed necessary by managementValid driver’s license and an acceptable driving recordYour Background IncludesHigh School Diploma or GED requiredOne to three (1-3) years related experience and knowledge of Boiler and ChillersMust obtain NIULPE Class IV power engineering certification within first eighteen months of employmentA Bonus To HaveAssociate’s degree (AA or AS) or technical degreeSix to eight (6-8) years’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experienceWhat We Bring To YouProfessional growth and development programs including tuition reimbursementComprehensive health, dental, vision insurance plans and wellness plans for employee and your familyLife insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, and supplemental benefits401(k) Savings PlanNine Paid HolidaysPaid Vacation and Personal/Sick LeavePaid Parental Leave for the birth, adoption, or placement of a child/childrenHighly competitive salaries and incentive structureWe Want You To KnowESG is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
