Position may require evening or weekend availability. This is an on-site position. Under direct supervision of the Department Chair of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, the incumbent will teach and ensure the effectiveness of the Adult Cardiac Program. Make curriculum addition, deletion, assessment, and reviews. Oversee quality review and improvement for the program. In addition, perform duties and responsibilities the DMSO department Chair assigns to support the DMSO program's operation.Qualifications (Required and Preferred) Associate's Degree in Sonography field and two years of directly related work experience. CERTIFICATION OR LICENSES: RDCS in Adult Echocardiology (AE) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree (or higher) Five (5) five years of directly related work experience RVT in Vascular Technology (VT) or RT in Sonography (S) or Vascular Sonography (VS)Job Duties and Responsibilities The incumbent will: Develop and teach assigned classes in keeping with syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials. Cultivate healthy teacher-student relationships. Engage students in active learning. Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction. Provide laboratory instruction in assigned courses. Compose, edit, review, and approve learning objectives. Develop, administer, compile, and grade assignments for assigned courses. Review assessments with students. Post and maintain office hours as assigned. Counsel students with academic and/or personal problems, referring to appropriate personnel or agencies as necessary. Utilize advancements in technology to improve instructional methodology. Stay abreast of developments in the discipline by reading current literature, interacting and collaborating with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences. Incorporates best practices. Seek feedback to improve the quality of teaching. Participate in academic/professional organizations. Participate in professional development to improve skills related to job assignments annually. Maintain accurate student records in compliance with Temple College requirements. Collaborate with colleagues and the chair to address teaching, curriculum improvements, book recommendations, instructional materials development, and research issues. Oversee quality review and improvement of the educational program. Cooperatively work with the medical advisor (s). Work with colleagues to seek and maintain program accreditation. Recruit for and promote Temple College and specific programs. Instruct Distance Ed or Dual Credit courses as assigned. Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors and coworkers; communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents; present model behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible. Fosters collegiality within the department/division. Demonstrate a commitment to ethics and integrity. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a classroom, healthcare learning lab, clinical, and office settings. Duties will require travel in personal or school-owned vehicles.
