Registered Nurse
Haywood Regional Medical Center, an acute care facility in Clyde, North Carolina, is seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Registered Nurse to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to patients with diverse medical and surgical needs, supporting our mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to the community. Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and support staff, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and adjust interventions based on clinical status and provider orders. You will utilize sound clinical judgment to prioritize care for multiple patients, respond effectively to changes in condition, and escalate concerns in a timely manner.
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, maintaining clear communication with the interdisciplinary team, and providing education to patients and families about diagnoses, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions. You will practice and reinforce infection-prevention and safety protocols, participate in bedside handoff, support safe patient handling and mobility, and contribute to a clean and organized care environment. You will assist with procedures, manage IV lines and infusions, perform wound care and dressing changes, obtain and interpret vital signs, and coordinate diagnostic tests and consultations. This on-site clinical role requires flexibility with scheduling, which may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on departmental needs.
