Role Overview — Technical Analyst (Security Enhancements)The Technical Analyst (Security Enhancements) is a key member of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Loan Guaranty Service (LGY) DevSecOps teamThis role supports modernization initiatives by analyzing technical enhancements, documenting requirements, and coordinating across teams to design, evaluate, and deliver secure technology solutions.The Technical Analyst collaborates with VA business users, VA Office of Information Technology (OIT), product managers, developers, architects, and system administrators to ensure solutions meet technical, compliance, and operational requirements.Requirements & DocumentationIdentify technical issues, gaps, and enhancement opportunities.Document technical requirements, workflows, data mappings, and operational procedures.Maintain accurate, version-controlled documentation within the VA Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool.Solution DesignCollaborate with stakeholders to define and refine technical solutions.Research emerging tools, technologies, and best practices to support modernization.Ensure proposed solutions comply with VA security, data governance, and architectural standards.Conduct proof-of-concept evaluations to validate feasibility.Obtain required approvals from VA business users and OIT.Development & ValidationSupport development by clarifying requirements and system behavior.Perform testing, validation, and verification to ensure functionality, accuracy, compliance, and quality.Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and facilitate knowledge transfer.Ensure documentation remains complete and up to date.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in technical analysis, systems analysis, or IT support.Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across systems, software, data, and integrations.Experience documenting technical requirements, workflows, diagrams, data mappings, and procedures.Working knowledge of:APIs and integrationsETL processesDatabases and cloud conceptsSystem architecture and IT infrastructure basicsSecurity fundamentalsAbility to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting VA LGY or other federal programs using Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps.Experience identifying requirements from CI/CD tickets, including tooling and configuration for integrations and ETLs.Strong infrastructure background and knowledge of cloud security (AWS, AWS Transfer Family)Familiarity with tools and technologies such as:SalesforceAWSAPI integrationsEnterprise data platforms and analytics toolsLinux / Red Hat environments (RHEL 7/8/9)Jenkins and SeleniumKnowledge of federal IT security processes (ATO, POAMs, security scans, testing).Understanding of security requirements for web-based tools in complex environments.Recommended CertificationsCISA, AWS certifications, Microsoft certifications, Salesforce certifications, CompTIA A+, Security+, ITIL, SAFe, CBAP (or similar).Position DetailsEmployment Type: Full-time (W2)Location: 100% Remote (U.S. only)Hours: 40 hours/week (core hours 8am–5pm ET)Start Date: ASAPEligibility: Must be able to obtain Public Trust clearanceSalary Range: $70,000 – $100,000This role supports secure modernization efforts by ensuring technical solutions are clearly defined, compliant, and effectively delivered within a DevSecOps environment.J-18808-Ljbffr
