A Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card is also required.We are seeking Full-Time or Part-Time Pre-School or Pre-Kindergarten Teachers who are passionate about Christian education and called to work with youth in early childhood, desiring them to grow in their understanding of subject matter with a biblical perspective. Beyond preparing lessons and grading assignments, teachers will also take on routine responsibilities common to all SCA teaching staff. Our teachers are responsible for fulfilling the mission of Scottsdale Christian by equipping minds through engaging, innovative instruction and nurturing hearts by mentoring young people as a spiritual leader and role model. Teachers will report directly to the Elementary Principal.REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES:Education & CertificationBachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or a related field from an accredited college is required; Master's Degree preferred.State teaching certification and ACSI certification preferred.Experience:Training in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and best practices in teaching are required.Prior teaching experience preferred.Skills:Ability to design lessons that teach curriculum in an engaging manner, applying various teaching methods.Ability to develop authentic relationships with young adultsStrong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.Excellent organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Knowledge of FACTS a plus.Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.Must be able to traverse school grounds and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIESDemonstrate knowledge of early childhood development and best practices.Integrate Biblical truth and principles into daily instruction and classroom routines in age-appropriate ways.Teach core academic concepts, including early literacy and numeracy skills.Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based instruction aligned with curriculum standards and prescribed scope and sequence, using creative, hands-on methods of learning, such as artistic expression, free play, centers, and storytelling.Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and support diverse learning needs.Teach classes assigned following prescribed scope and sequence, standards, and curriculum as scheduled by the Administrator/Principal.Assist in reviewing and improving classroom curriculum and instructional materials.Lead implementation of school-wide initiatives, special projects, or classroom events.Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom as well as instruction while monitoring and managing students' behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules.Encourage and monitor appropriate social interaction of students.Maintain active supervision of students and ensure compliance with school policies, health and safety regulations, and licensing requirements.Complete daily classroom routines, including lunch, arrival and dismissal, and recess.Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of classroom materials and learning spaces.Observe, assess, and document student progress, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school requirements.Maintain accurate student records, including work, notes, and portfolios.Use assessment data to inform instructional planning and differentiate learning.Communicate effectively and professionally with parents while maintaining confidentiality of student and family information.Provide guidance or resources to parents for at-home learning and development when needed.Communicate observations and concerns about students to the Early Childhood Director.Implement individual accommodations and behavior plans under teacher guidance.Provide leadership and supervision to classroom aides and volunteers.Participate in required professional development, training, and emergency procedures.Fulfill requirements to maintain state licensing and Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) certification.
