The successful candidate will be responsible for office management of the JDR&E publication's development. Support will be provided at the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) in Ft. Belvoir, MD. Secret Clearance Required.Job FunctionsCoordinate with the rest of the journal development team and DTIC counterparts to ensure maintenance of quality standards in publishing this scientific journalMaintain electronic publication sites, assist with journal planning, help maintain tracking documents, organize and maintain databases, assist in user registration, and prepare and coordinate meetings in support of journal promotion activities and developmentOrganize and coordinate office operations and procedures to ensure organization effectiveness and efficiency; maintain the JDR&E SharePoint site; and support community outreach events through maintenance and shipment of JDR&E promotion materialsMonitor the day-to-day operations and overall performance of SharePointProvide knowledge management support, involving database searches, generating database management reports reflecting trend analysis and ability to effectively access / search web-based, collaborative software platforms like SharePoint, assisting in the planning and future development of database requirements, compiling data from various sources and formats into spreadsheets and databases to be used in reports and/or databases, and developing Boolean search stringsExperience RequirementsPrior office management experience working in a government office environment is highly desiredExperience with official document quality publication in MS Word; MS Excel; databasing in MS Access, presentations in MS PowerPoint, and use of MS Project is highly desiredFamiliarity with the DoD Information Analysis Center (DoD IAC) program or mission of the DTIC is highly desiredExperienceOperating in an automated workflow process environment such as SharePoint;Experience in PowerApps is a plusResearching and navigating databases to include basics of Boolean searches and establishing metadata to support literature searches of databases;With relational databases; andEnsuring storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctlySkills and AbilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is requiredProficient writer with excellent communication skillsCreative thinker with a solid foundation in logic and reasoningVery strong attention to detailVery customer focused with good listening and verbal communication skills, telephone skills, and research skillsAbility toManage multiple, on-going projects;Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a busy environment;Perform tasks with minimal supervision and infrequent instructions;Work independently to solve technical issues; andEstablish the needs of users and monitor user accessEducation / Certification RequirementsBachelor of Arts degree, preferably in English or communications, and two years of general office experience is requiredAdditional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Active Secret Clearance
