Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant

Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant and Bookkeeper to play a vital role in managing the finances of our restaurants and other businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting overall financial management. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management: General Ledger Oversight: Take ownership and responsibility for all accounts, known as the general ledger, adjusting as needed to maintain accuracy. Transaction Tracking: Utilize the appropriate financial management system to track, classify, and record all income and expense transactions. Coding Transactions: Code each transaction to the appropriate Chart of Account and Class based on the specific location. Accounts Receivable and Payables: Create, manage, and maintain all accounts receivables and payables when identified. Reconciliation: Responsible for managing the organization’s accounts and ensuring proper monthly reconciliations of payroll entries, credit card, and bank statements from all other accounts as required. Financial Reporting: Provide accurate and timely financial reports to management, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the financial status. Financial Reporting: Monthly Reports: Prepare and submit monthly financial reports to location managers. Credit Card Management: Conduct monthly credit card reconciliations and classification, identifying and reporting any fraudulent activity. Tax Filing and Compliance: Tax Oversight: Oversee all tax filings, including Sales and Prepared Food and Beverage taxes, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Education & Qualifications: Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with accounting and financial management software, particularly Quickbooks. Excel Skills: Proficient and expertise in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting. Detail Orientation: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records. Communication Skills: Ability to explain financial terms in simple language for effective communication. Proactive Attitude: Ability to self-motivate, know when to seek guidance, and handle tasks independently. Time Management: Strong interpersonal skills, experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to multitask while maintaining a calm, professional work style. Tech Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google applications. Education: High School Diploma or higher required.
