Sous Chef

Wolfgang Puck Catering is seeking an experienced Sous Chef who enjoys working in a fast‑paced, high‑standards environment and brings a passion for executing elevated culinary experiences at scale. This role supports both large-format catering events and corporate dining operations from our South San Francisco commissary. Working closely with the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef plays a key role in daily culinary operations, menu development, and event execution. This is an opportunity for a collaborative, hands‑on culinary professional who enjoys leading teams, refining processes, and delivering memorable food experiences.What You’ll DoSupport the day‑to‑day operation of the Culinary Department, ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and servicePartner with the Executive Chef on menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal offeringsLead and execute high‑end catering and ad hoc culinary events, including large‑scale productionAssist with cost controls, inventory management, and responsible purchasing practicesSupervise, train, and support hourly culinary team members, fostering a positive and inclusive kitchen cultureEnsure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standardsContribute to the rollout of new culinary programs in collaboration with marketing and corporate culinary teamsParticipate in client satisfaction initiatives and continuously look for ways to enhance the guest experienceWhat We’re Looking ForCulinary training (A.S. degree or equivalent professional experience)Progressive experience in culinary or kitchen leadership rolesExperience supporting catering operations; high‑volume or complex foodservice environments strongly preferredExposure to institutional or batch cooking environments is helpfulStrong understanding of current food and catering trends, with attention to quality, production, and presentationWorking knowledge of food cost controls, ordering, and inventory practicesComfort using technology and standard office tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and emailWillingness to engage in client feedback and satisfaction programsServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)Apply to Wolfgang Puck today!Wolfgang Puck Catering is a member of Compass Group USAClick here to Learn More about the Compass Story Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
